Why only 5 Machines install Limit of A Game of Thrones: Genesis

Why only 5 Machines install Limit of A Game of Thrones: Genesis
First of all I wanted to say that the game looks fun to me, and I like the idea of using Steam, especially since I have purchased a lot of games through Steam. But, Seriously, I won’t allow you to install any software that puts a limit on how many times I can install this game on a different machine, that’s up to me to decide. This is not a protection this is only annoying; I hope you rethink your strategy on this.

It is a 5 system limit. Meaning you can have it installed in 5 different places. And once you've reached that limit, all you have to do is revoke the license on one or all of those systems, and then you can install it again - As many times as you want. This DRM doesn't limit the number of times you can install it, just how many machines it can activated on at one given time.

I have a question about this DRM: If I have to format my computer -for example: virus or something like that- and I can´t uninstall the game, will I lose one activation?

If you have to format your HDD and are unable to revoke the license for the game, yes, you would lose one activation. Keep in mind, you have four other activations. I'd suspect that Solidshield would grant you more activation; to quote their website, "User experience is the innermost stronghold to be preserved: the essential keystone is building our structure." If users were having frequent problems running out of activations, it probably would be a more commonplace issue and included in FAQs. Rather than speculating about what would happen, I suggest contacting Solidshield.

The game requires Steam, so I hope they remove these limitations in the future. Steam already ensures that you don't play the game on more than one machine at any given time, so that seems like a much better and less annoying form of DRM. I have more faith in Valve supporting their product than I do in the quality of Tages drivers.
