AMD revises participation in The Foundry Company

"Drops to just over 34% of the share capital of AMD planned in The Foundry Company, an accomplice devaluation of its factories in Dresden"

The changes, now daily, linked to the international financial crisis led international AMD and Mubadala to partially revise their plans to create a new company, currently listed under the name of The Foundry Company, specializes in the production of chips.

In the month of November AMD announced the first operational plans related to its strategy "asset light" means that part of the production, made by factories in Dresden and the rights to build a new factory in the state of New York, would be fed in a new company, in partnership with Mubadala.

If AMD was to initially hold 44.4% of the share capital of the new company, The Foundry Company, the changing global economic conditions have led to a reduction in the value of assets that will bring AMD as participation. The consequence is a reduction to 34.2% of the company of AMD. Underlying this change reduced the estimated value for the assets from AMD, with a multiplier resulted from these reported earlier to 0.85 x 1.1 x compared to net value added in the budget.
