Firefox : Unexpected installation error 203
Hi,]

I've just installed Mozilla FireFox and I have tried to install some Add Onss and every time get the message: "Firefox could not install the file because: Unexpected installation error -203". Can you give me some solutions !!!

I had the same problem before, I completely removed and reinstalled FF3. Some plug-ins installed, some gave me error -203. My applications run as silently malware (NOD32 and ThreatFire) that I forget they are there. Threafire turned off, and all installed extensions without any problems. After installing, then turned back On and now FF works perfectly with ThreatFire.

The firefox error 203 is a common problem for all Firefox users when we try to install extensions on the browser. This is a Firefox error message that may indicate your extension files have been damaged :

1. From the menu at the top of the Firefox windowbar, select FileFirefox and then select the ExitQuit FirefoxQuit menu item.
2. Go to your profile folder.
3. Delete the following files:
* extensions.ini
* extensions.cache
* extensions.rdf
4. Restart Firefox.

First make sure you are not using Zone Alarm or CA firewalls are known as these two firewalls to cause this problem. Make sure your Internet security software (including antivirus, firewalls, spyware, and privacy programs) are established to allow Firefox. If you are using any of them off using the icon in the system tray and then try installing the extension or theme. You should now install without any problems. After installation, you can re-enable the firewall.

Each profile is stored on your hard drive in a profile folder. The following table identifies the default locations of Firefox profiles on various operating systems. Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile or create a new default profile and then transfer your data to the newly-created profile.
